In this dynamic presentation, tech reporter Amber Mac takes audiences on a visual journey to demonstrate the ways our societies will be transformed, and why that’s fueling an acceleration of technology that will change the future of work forever. As more and more businesses, including big tech companies such as Twitter, Facebook, and Shopify, put measures in place to create a decentralized workplace, we’re going to see the technology that leaders have put off for years and years become absolutely essential for survival in 2020. No matter what industry you’re in, whether it’s retail, healthcare, government, or the non-profit sector, one thing is for certain: rapid digitization is a must. Eye-opening and urgent, this presentation includes the practical lessons and tools that are critical for success in a post-COVID future.
Innovation
Relentless Adaptation How Great Companies Are Really Innovating to Win
We obsess over innovation. But innovation is overrated. If you look at the smart companies that are prized for “innovation,” you see that they are actually masters of “adaptation”—of knowing when to adjust, when to speed up, and when to capitalize. It’s not about being first; it’s about being flexible. In this thrilling new talk, Amber Mac looks to leading organizations, many of which she covers for Fast Company, to explore the practice of relentless adaptation. Is your company taking advantage of disruptive new technologies, or simply being disrupted by them? A newly adaptive corporate culture, defined by digital technology and bold leadership, is fundamentally changing business—and Mac has had her ear to this fertile new ground for years. From voice technology and 5G, to the democratization of content creation and growing influence of culture, this big picture talk sheds light on how to win in our fast-forward economy.
Marketing
Redefining Customer Experience The Most Important Metric of Business
In today’s quickly evolving business landscape, companies creating exceptional customer experiences are the ones leading the pack. These organizations know that it’s not just what your product delivers that matters—it’s every single touchpoint in the consumer-brand relationship, whether it be a shopper walking into a store or a customer service agent resolving a problem. Today, two-thirds of a company’s competitive edge comes from how a consumer interacts with it, and more than 40% of all data analytics will involve customer experience in the coming years.

Amber Mac understands the staggering importance of refining the customer journey like few others. As a life-long disruptor and founder of her own digital agency, she interprets how new technologies, changing societal values, the emerging dominance of AI, and a whole slew of other megatrends are shifting customer expectations. The true winners in this post-digital, disruptive age are the ones who realize they are in the customer experience business, and Mac’s engaging, informative, and contemporary new business talk will help audiences redefine their mission for tomorrow’s hyper-competitive marketplace.
Technology
Demystifying Artificial Intelligence A Day in Your Life
In this presentation, Amber Mac will share how AI is going to change the way we live, work, and play over the next few years. Using the latest research, engaging visuals, and practical examples, she will take audience members on a 24-hour journey to a day in 2025 to share the real-life impact that this technology will have on everything—from the way we manage work (e.g., business automation), to the way we manage our health (e.g., cancer detection), to the way we manage transportation (e.g., autonomous vehicles). For companies, the stakes are high. For example, Accenture just released a study revealing that businesses that successfully apply AI could increase profitability by an average of 38 percent by 2035. While many speakers talk about the impact of artificial intelligence, Amber will show attendees who are just starting to learn about this technology why and how they need to adapt to the AI revolution today.
Entrepreneurship
Her Turn Overcoming the Barriers of Women-Led Entrepreneurship
On paper, things have never looked better for female entrepreneurs. They collectively employ 1.5 million Canadians across the country, and contribute $148 billion annually to the economy. Unfortunately, despite being a driving force behind the nation’s economy, women today own only 16% of small-to-medium-sized businesses. In an effort to flatten the systemic barriers that women entrepreneurs continue to face, award-winning digital reporter Amber Mac joined forces with PayPal, Facebook, and BDC to launch Her Turn: an online business competition offering support and mentorship to female business owners.

Here, Mac translates the insights, tools, and tactics of the series into an interactive new talk, complete with a Q&A where audiences can ask their most burning questions on what it takes to succeed. Armed with amazing, real-world stories from the Her Turn contestants, and actionable exercises that groups can take back to their teams, Mac reveals how to increase access to funding, build a robust support network, and defy societal expectations with ease.
