Tech Reporter Amber Mac Offers Tips for Working from Home on CTV News
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, those lucky enough to be able to work from home have since made the transition— some for the very first time. Amber Mac joined CTV News to offer her top tips for staying productive, connected, and safe while under lockdown.
Conventional wisdom would suggest that you should keep a routine when working from home, but Amber Mac reminds us that it’s also crucial to remain adaptable. She tells CTV News, “I think this is really important because you probably aren’t going to be able to keep the same schedule that you had when you were in the office, so you have to have flexibility.” This is key even under regular circumstances, but becomes even more important when you factor in that people will have their children home from school as well.
As it’s unclear how long the lockdown will last, Mac also recommends setting up an office space in your home. “You’re likely going to be working from home, not just for days or weeks, but maybe for months, so you may want to take the time [...] to set up a space in your home,” Mac says. “It’s great to have a place where you can close the door.”
