The World Economic Forum Honors Srdja Popovic As A Young Global Leader

Every year, the World Economic Forum selects a group of the most inspiring young leaders in the world to be admitted into their Forum of Young Global Leaders. This year, social change speaker Srdja Popovic made the list! Currently the founder of Otpor! and CANVAS, and a champion for non-violent, people-powered protesting, Popovic was part of the youth movement that overthrew Slobodan Milosevic. Now, he helps NGOs and activists harness the powerful strategies he himself employed to overthrow dictators and restore peace.

According to the description on the World Economic Forum website: "Candidates are selected based on their proven track record of professional accomplishments, breadth of their expertise, commitment to society and their ability to overcome adversity, among other criteria." Among a group of other exceptional leaders under 40, Popovic is now part of a global community dedicated to improving the world. Promoting the power of laughter and non-violence to achieve peace, Popovic provides a unique perspective on global activism.  As entertaining as he is inspiring, Popovic delivers speeches that engage and motivate his audiences to make the world a better place.
