Kate Bolick Releases New Book The March Sisters
Just in time for the 150th anniversary of Louisa May Alcott’s iconic Little Women, Kate Bolick’s newest offering, The March Sisters, is hitting the shelves.
Along with three other notable writers; Jenny Zhang (Sour Heart), Carmen Maria Machado (Her Body and Other Parties), and Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Bolick has penned a thoughtful, deeply personal piece on her relationship with the book—specifically the character Meg.
Each author examines and celebrates their connection with one of the central characters of the classic piece, from childhood and into adulthood; making for a fresh, dynamic take on a much-loved classic and ultimately exploring the ability of literature to shape lives.
Bolick’s first book, a New York Times bestseller Spinster: Making a Life of One’s Own, was also named one of the New York Times “100 Notable Books of the Year.”
