Innovation Speakers Series: Lyn Heward & David Robertson On Creativity
David Robertson's keynotes act as a refreshing alternative to traditional talks on innovation. It's not always about being disruptive or chasing "the next big thing," the Wharton School Professor and author shows us. Using LEGO as a case study (which he chronicles in his book, Brick By Brick), he provides audiences with the "dos and don'ts" of innovation. He provides audiences with the "bricks" they can use to build their own versions of LEGO’s system for continuous innovation. Check out one of his recent keynote speeches in the video posted above.

Robertson draws from this story to explain how business experts can boost innovation at their own organizations.
Here's one of the great reviews his book, Brick By Brick, has received:
- "A fascinating book. The story of how Lego came perilously close to disaster but then transformed itself into one of the most successful and innovative companies in the world serves both as an inspiration and an object lesson." —Chris Anderson, former Editor-in-Chief of Wired and author of Makers and The Long Tail

Now, onto another of our great innovation speakers: Lyn Heward. As the Former Director of Creation for Cirque du Soleil, there's no question that Heward has great insight on igniting the creative spark. In her innovation keynote, she takes you behind the scenes of Cirque du Soleil to explore the nature of creativity and innovation. A gifted storyteller, she dispenses practical advice on a range of issues: Risk-taking; leadership; teamwork; product development; finding and developing talent; and fostering a dynamic corporate culture. With authority, Heward helps you find the creative spark and zeal for innovation that, in today's business climate, can mean the difference between success and failure. (Check out one of Heward's keynotes on our YouTube channel).
Here's the rave review TIME gave her book:
