Deutschman is the Executive Director of Unboundary, a strategy consulting firm that works with top executives at companies, including FedEx and Charles Schwab. In a 19-year career as a journalist, he was Fortune's Silicon Valley correspondent; GQ's "Profit Motive" columnist; and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, where he co-authored the "New Establishment" power list. Most recently, he was a senior writer for Fast Company, where he interviewed many of the most influential figures in business, including Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Steve Jobs (about whom he wrote the critically acclaimed book The Second Coming of Steve Jobs.) He also studied the successful turnarounds and change efforts at companies such as Apple, IBM and Yahoo; companies that, when faced with a choice -- to either change or die -- chose change.
