Hijinks, Highlights, Late Nights and Insights
Speaker Ron MacLean is one of our country’s most beloved sportscasters. As the co-host of Coach’s Corner and host of new series Hometown Hockey, MacLean is arguably the game’s most eloquent ambassador—and a welcome guest in millions of Canadian homes every Saturday night during the hockey season. He also hosted the hit reality series Battle of the Blades.
A Red Deer, Alberta native, MacLean is a multiple Gemini winner, and knows about more than just hockey (though he knows more about hockey than just about anyone else). MacLean has hosted CBC's coverage of both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and is the author of the #1 Canadian bestselling book, Cornered. He also hosted CBC’s hit series Battle of the Blades, alongside a roster of figure skaters, hockey players, and judges, including Kurt Browning and Jamie Sale.
On Hockey Night in Canada, MacLean co-hosts Coach’s Corner with Don Cherry, which is often the most-watched segment on Canadian television on any given week. He is the host of Hometown Hockey, which highlights a small town with hockey roots every Sunday night. In 2015, he was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame. MacLean is also a prominent supporter of minor league hockey, and is a former certified level five referee with Hockey Canada. He lives with his wife, Cari, in Oakville, Ontario.

“Ron MacLean was a success at our conference. There was not one negative word about his performance. Everyone was quite pleased and entertained. He is kind, polite, witty, and funny. After his performance, he stayed to sign autographs and chat with whoever wanted to talk to him. That was quite surprising and delightful.”Heavy Duty Distributor Council
“You were sensational! You had your audience totally enthralled with your presentation. This is the first time where everyone stayed to hear the guest speaker.
