Born in the former Yugoslavia, he fled the country with his family at age eight, arriving in Canada with a single suitcase and a mere 20 dollars. Herjavec cut his teeth delivering newspapers and waiting tables, but soon moved into sales. In 1990, he founded internet security company BRAK Systems from his basement, which quickly became the largest Canadian enterprise of its kind. A dynamic entrepreneur, Herjavec has developed and sold several IT companies to major players such as AT&T. In 2003, he founded Herjavec Group, which grew at an unprecedented rate, scaling from $400,000 in sales to a run rate of $150 million. Today, Herjavec Group is recognized as a global leader in information security, specializing in managed security services, compliance, incident response, and remediation efforts for enterprise level organizations.
