Must Watch: Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Powerful Keynote from the Morning After the Election

On the morning after Donald Trump’s stunning election victory, Ta-Nehisi Coates—one of America’s foremost writers on race and politics—spoke at the InBound 2016 Conference, in Boston, and delivered a powerful, impromptu keynote on “what happened last night” and what lies ahead.

The author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Between the World and Me, Coates talked about many topics, including the derailing of attention that, recently, had been paid to systemic racial injustice. Coates said that “last night was a major, major, major blow” against “the nascent activism that’s sprung up over the past four years or so, in the form of Black Lives Matter.”

Watch the rest of the talk above, where he covers a plethora of topics—everything to pay attention to in the wake of a Trump presidency.
