I've never worked with an agency before. What do you do?
Our job is to help you find the right speaker for your event. We ask a lot of questions about your event, what you're hoping to achieve, who's in the audience etc.; and then we make targeted suggestions from our roster of exclusive speakers and our extensive network of non-exclusives. There's no extra charge for working with us. We take a commission from the speaker's fee. So, you're getting valuable advice and feedback on your event for free! Do you have videos of all your speakers? We strive to maintain as extensive a collection as possible of speaker videos, and to make clips from these available online. However, many great speakers do not have videos, this is especially true with those who are celebrities in another field and just haven't taken the time to get a "professional" video done. So how do I know if a speaker is any good? The best way is to find an agent you can trust. Look for a reputable speakers' agency, one that's been in business for a while, and that has exclusive relationships with proven high quality presenters. Once you've found someone you're comfortable with, don't be afraid to ask them for references on the speaker you're interested in. A video is like a commercial for a product; but speaking directly to referral sources lets you talk to someone who has used the product. Are there any "hidden" or extra charges when I book a speaker? Generally speaking, any travel amounts will be billed on top of the speaker's fee. If the speaker has to travel to your event, and it's important to your group to know, ask what class of travel they'll be using, and if there will be charges for a hotel room and incidentals. A good agency will spell out clearly what you are and are not responsible for when it comes to speaker's expenses. What if I'm interested in someone who I don't see on your roster? That's fine. We have an extensive network of contacts and access to industry databases not available to the general public. We can usually book the person you're interested in; or at the very least tell you if they do speaking engagements and what their fee is. More questions? Call us at 1-800-265-4870. We'll take as much time as needed to make you an expert on booking speakers. |
