a borderless world and making a difference in people's lives.
In 1988, only recently out of medical school, Dr. Heinzl

first field volunteer. Since that time hundreds of other Canadian volunteers
have followed in his footsteps, bringing their healing skills to the world's
most vulnerable people. Along the way, Dr. Heinzl has received numerous
awards and citations, including being named to Report on Business Magazine's
prestigious Top 40 Under 40 List.

He is also the Vice President of Vivid Health Solutions which creates motion picture and new media solutions for the health sciences. Dr. Heinzl's much-anticipated memoir chronicling the incredible story of Doctor Without Borders, Canada, is due for release in early 2008. What does Dr. Richard Heinzl talk about?
Lessons from Abroad: the Opportunities of a Borderless
World
Understaffed and with few supplies, Dr. Richard Heinzl
tells the story of how he and his colleagues at Doctors Without Borders
faced an overwhelming humanitarian crisis during the Iraq War. To succeed
they relied on lessons learned from all over the world: lessons relevant
to individuals, businesses and organizations anywhere. In this speech,
which has been receiving outstanding reviews, Richard shares insights
into a range of topics such as the importance of a non-conventional approach
to problem solving, embracing change and transformation, and the exponential
change in technology and its impact worldwide. This multimedia presentation
will have your audience inspired at the resiliance and adaptability of
the human spirit, while they also learn some valuable lessons that they
can apply in their personal and professional lives.
From War Zones to the Internet
Sharing experiences from the world's conflict zones,
Dr. Heinzl draws a connection between those places cut off from the world
and the high tech world in the West where he is now a CEO. Believing technology
holds enormous promise not just for us in Canada but for the disadvantaged
and emerging populations worldwide, he talks about his work a decade ago
in rural Cambodia where there wasn't a single working telephone in town
and brings it to the present where kids now surf the Web at a café
in the same town and walk down the main street chatting on cell phones.
