CORRIERO
Has your organization tapped into the potential of youth - as customers, as employees, or as business partners? If not, then you should spend some time with Jennifer Corriero.
Jennifer Corriero is a young innovator and leader, bringing tremendous insight into understanding, reaching out to and motivating youth. In all of her varied experiences, her focus has been on two things: helping youth around the world to realize the potential of technology, and working with companies to show them what they need to do to connect meaningfully with young people. This passion has made for some amazing successes, including the development of one of the world's most successful youth-oriented not-for-profit organizations, TakingITGlobal, which has over 300,000 users in more than 200 countries and territories, and is providing a platform, a resource and a network for today's global youth.

At age 19, Correiro was a senior consultant to Microsoft, and has since done consulting work with Hewlett-Packard, Nike, and McDonald's. She has been involved in conferences around the world as presenter, facilitator and panelist in India, Ghana, Egypt, Sweden, South Africa, Switzerland, Malaysia and Australia. Recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader of Tomorrow in 2002 and as a Young Global Leader in 2004, she recently completed her Master's at York University with an area of concentration on Youth Engagement and Capacity Building Across Cultures.

Technology, Education and the Student Experience
This highly interactive talk challenges educators to understand the ways in which their students’ own experience and knowledge can be put to use to make the classroom experience a better one for students and teachers alike. There is no denying the incredible knowledge and expertise that many young people have developed in the areas of information technology and the Internet. Unfortunately this expertise has oftentimes been separate from, rather than integral to, the classroom. Building on the audience’s own questions and comments, Jennifer helps educators draw on their own experience to generate new ideas about student involvement and classroom interaction.
Women, Technology, and the Future of Work
