Ambitious website from leading biologist makes all key information about life on Earth accessible to everyone

Legendary scientist E.O. Wilson has created the Encyclopedia of Life, a website that will collect all known data about every living species, featuring contributions from scientists and amateurs alike. With an ever-expanding encyclopedia online, Wilson hopes to inspire a new generation of scientists, showcase and protect the richest possible spectrum of biodiversity, and increase our collective understanding of life on Earth. A two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, Wilson is one of three recipients of a 2007 TED Prize, and it is this prize money that will fund the project.

Lisa Randall Named to TIME 100

One of the most important scientists today on list of "people shaping the world"

In her presentations, Randall gives us a new understanding of the universe—how it developed, and where it is headed—tackling fundamental questions posed by Nature, and discussing how extra dimensions may help answer them.
