Will Help to Evaluate New Technologies to Clean CO2 from Earth's Atmosphere

After reading The Weather Makers, Tim Flannery's book on climate change, Richard Branson pledged three billion dollars toward weaning the world off fossil fuels. Last week he offered $25 million for the person who comes up with the best way of removing significant amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. To bring things full circle, Flannery has been chosen as one of the judges. In his galvanizing campus speeches, he discusses the history, science and politics of climate change, before moving on to what must be done to make a difference—and how to go about doing it.

Shantaram Will Begin Shooting Later This Year

Mira Nair

Mira Nair's next project will be with A-list actor Johnny Depp. Shantaram follows the story of an Australian heroin addict who escapes from a maximum-security prison and reinvents himself as a doctor treating the destitute in the slums of Bombay. Also on the horizon for Nair is the much-anticipated theatrical release of The Namesake, which will be in theatres this March.
