ALVIN
LAW The life of Alvin Law could easily have become a
tragic storybut it didn't turn out that way. Born without arms,
and given up by his birth family, Alvin, today, is a successful professional
speaker, living proof that out of nothing, and with the right combination
of Attitude, Learning, Value of self, Imagination and Never giving up,
the impossible is truly within your grasp
even if you use your feet!
Alvin has defied enormous odds to live a full, completely
independent life in which he has become a husband and a father, and a
professional who speaks to more than 150,00 people each year. He has made
it, but he might not have made it were it not for his high school music
teacher who, along with the shop teacher, built a special chair so that
Alvin could play the trombone with his feet. He might not have made it
without the Little League coach who had him pinch-run every game, or the
mother who said, "load the dishwasher," and didn't complain
when he broke half the dishes.
Alvins programs have become so popular in the Canadian and American educational systems that since 1988, over 100,000 students and 35,000 teachers a year have been witness to his refreshing brand of reflection. In 1986, Alvin ran for a seat in the Saskatchewan Legislature. In a tight race he finished second, but the experience was invaluable. From 1985 to 1988, Alvin worked for Saskatchewans biggest advertising agency. As an account executive he spent considerable time in corporate boardrooms, gaining priceless knowledge. Alvin agrees his frontline experiences in numerous impressive and diverse fields dont equal a Masters Degree or a PhD, but when added to his remarkable background, Alvins credibility speaks for itself. In 2006, he released a book on his remarkable story so far, Alvin's Laws of Life: 5 Steps To Successfully Overcome Anything. What does Alvin Law talk about?
