What does Guy Dauncey talk about?
Global Climate Change: The Challenge and the Solutions
With the public now accepting the scientific research that says global warming is for real, there is a hunger to learn about practical solutions that work. How can we solve this problem while retaining the quality of our civilization? Guy Dauncey is the author of a major book on global climate change solutions, and his illustrated in-depth presentations have been widely praised from the Yukon to New Orleans. His scientifically-based framing of the problem and technically thorough presentation of the solutions, ranging from renewable energy sources to innovations in transport and vehicle design, leaves audiences feeling inspired and uplifted.
Sustainable Energy Solutions at the End of the Age of Oil
The world is about to enter an enormous energy crisis, with oil heading towards $100 a barrel. How will we live, work and travel, when we no longer have access to cheap oil and gas? Guy Dauncey is an optimistic environmentalist. He knows how bad things are, but he also knows what the probable solutions are, and how human ingenuity and technology can lead us beyond fossil fuels, using solar, wind, tidal, and other forms of sustainable energy. Be prepared to be surprised at the patterns of change he describes, and to be thoughtful about the obstacles which lie in the way. This speech is relevant for any organization which depends on fossil fuels, and whose members wonder how they will operate in a world without oil or gas.
The Role of Greener Buildings in a Warming World
Imagine a world where buildings are so efficient that they generate more energy than they use. A world where the air inside your home or office is always fresh and clean, and you can power your car from solar panels on the roof. All these things are possible - and happening today. In this presentation, Guy Dauncey takes us into this burgeoning world. The building industry is a major user of energy, and a large producer of greenhouse gas emissions, indoor air pollutants and landfill waste. It is also in the middle of an exciting change in thinking as a result of programs such as Built Green and LEED.

Dauncey's approach to environmental problems as they concern the building industry is to be realistic but brazenly positive, inspiring people with countless real-world examples from existing, high-profile projects. Audiences that hear him speak leave with an awareness of what's going on, and what their role can be in helping to sustain the building industry by implementing smarter, greener procedures that help both the environment and the bottom line. Known for his practical solutions, and his ability to inspire people with a sense of what's possible, Guy Dauncey gives audiences so many solutions that they leave feeling excited and wanting to join the game.
How Can Our Communities Respond to Global Climate Change?
In this upbeat, optimistic and powerful presentation, Guy Dauncey reminds us about the seriousness of the crisis we face, and gives an overview of the solutions needed to solve the problem globally. He zeroes in on the steps that communities, large and small, are taking to tackle the problem around the world. In confronting climate change, cities and towns are also laying the foundation for a healthy, resilient and sustainable future and creating a vote-winning platform with much political merit. The small town of Gussing, in Austria, has eliminated 93% of its CO2 emissions since 1995. San Francisco is heading towards Zero Waste by 2020. In Copenhagen, 36% of all commute trips are done by bike. This presentation will reveal many more encouraging, positive stories about how communities are tackling this all-important problem.
Cancer: A New Vision of Prevention
In this powerful talk, Guy Dauncey presents a new vision of how cancer can be prevented before it starts, based on the latest science and new understandings about the interaction between environment, our bodies, and the food we eat. Based on Dauncey's latest book, Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic, this presentation takes a positive, solutions-based approach to this unwanted disease, with practical advice and success stories that will inspire you to act to protect your family, your neighbors, your fellow workers, and future generations.
