Charles Fishman's Big Thirst: The Bestselling Book on Water in 25 Years

After just seven months on the shelves, Charles Fishman's The Big Thirst is now the bestselling book on water in the U.S. in the last 25 years. It’s safe to say it has entered the pantheon of galvanizing water books, alongside, say, Marc Reisner’s Cadillac Desert, from 1986. Publishers Weekly calls Fishman’s book "a comprehensive, remarkably readable panorama of our dependence on—and responsibilities to—a priceless resource." It is now in a position to help shape thinking and attitudes around water for the 21st Century.

In February, The Big Thirst will arrive in paperback, and Fishman has penned a new chapter, on everything that's transpired around H2O in the past year. In his speeches, Fishman's message continues to shift perception of our most essential—but in many ways misunderstood—resource. Audiences will leave seeing water as not just something we drink, but as a vital cog in the business sector, a key to the developing world, and a substance which demands appropriate stewardship to ensure the prosperity of our species.
