"We Could Sustain the Giving." Blake Mycoskie on Why TOMS Shoes is a For-Profit Business
Lavin speaker and TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie has been named a USA Network Character Approved Honoree for 2011. Mycoskie’s company, which works on a one-for-one model, recently sold its one-millionth pair of shoes — which means they have also given away one million pairs of shoes to children in need around the world. TOMS Shoes continues to change the way people think about business, including how to do good socially while doing well financially. In the video above, Blake Mycoskie talks about why TOMS Shoes is a for-profit business, and how he built a model of sustainable donations.
